Great little state park with easy trails. Restrooms were clean and maintained the entire weekend. Main office staff were friendly.

I love the location of this park. It's in the country but it is close enough to make a quick run to town if you need something from the grocery store or you wanna grab a bite to eat. The park is very clean, including the multiple restrooms. There is a decent selection of RV and tent sites on the water as well as away from the water. There are cottages and cabins for use but be mindful of the holiday weekends because you can expect it to be sold out. There is a power plant across the lake and yes you can hear it in the background. I'm thankful for that plant though because without it, there wouldn't be a state park here at all. It makes for a pretty good backdrop when you are fishing from one of the docks. If you wanna tent camp and like the primitive camping, there is a good size island for that. Be warned though, the boat dock is close by and the fisherman crank up before dawn.

This park is a joke. No more than 2 vehicles (camper and truck is 2 vehicles). If u bring 2 vehicles + a boat and camper. You get charges an over vehicle limit of $5 per day. Absolutely no parking on the grass or side of the road. The rangers are always riding around looking for you to be in the wrong. US Army Corps. Of Engineers has the state parks beat. Needless to say I will never stay at a state park again.

Very helpful while evacuated for hurricane harvey, made sure we had plenty of beds and blankets, soap, towels... Extremely helpful in our time of need!

This park has a very friendly staff. The park hosts are also very helpful. It was very laid back and the trails are very cool. The 50 amp service is only $17/night. The lake is small, but very pretty. The woods dampen the sound of the plant across the lake. Canoe rentals are affordable as well.
